Everything you need for day one of a jam: a player and enemies, pickups, projectiles, a HUD and dialogue box, key prompts, and a 48 hour plan with scope cut rules.

Build your game around the placeholders, then replace them with your own art and keep your grid sizes and frame counts.

Colour roles

Every asset follows a simple shape language, so you can read its job at a glance:

  • Player = blue, rounded shapes
  • Enemy = red, spiky and angular shapes
  • Pickup = yellow, small and bright
  • Hazard = orange, triangles
  • Interactive = green (doors, ladders, checkpoints, springs, exit)
  • Neutral = grey

The jam guide (PDF, 3 pages)

  • Page 1: a 48 hour jam timeline and a scope cut rule ("if behind at hour X, cut Y").
  • Page 2: import settings for Godot, Unity and GameMaker (nearest filter, pixel snap, tile sizes). Menu names can differ between engine versions.
  • Page 3: the same plan for 24 hour and 72 hour jams, with scaled cut hours.

  • Grey/blue, grey/green and grey/purple. Each has sky gradient, clouds, far shapes and near shapes. Horizontally tileable.

Palettes

  • 34 colors as .gpl (GIMP, Aseprite, Krita), .hex, and PNG strips (16px and 1px).

Formats

  • Plain PNG and JSON, so it loads in any engine that reads PNG sprite sheets.
  • PNG with transparency (RGBA), crisp nearest-neighbor pixel edges, 1 to 2 px darker outline.
  • Grid sizes: 16, 24, 32 and 64 px, aligned to the grid.
